Mount Rinjani Lombok Island NTB-Indonesia, a favorite for climbers. Mount Rinjani, Lombok Island, NTB, Indonesia is the second highest volcano in Indonesia.
This mountain has 3,726 m asl and is located latitude 8º25′ South Latitude and 116º28′ East Longitude. The mountain is included in the National Park area. And has an area of approximately 41,330 hectares
It is known that this mountain is one of the favorites of mountain climbers. Access to Lombok Island can use the land route Jakarta – Mataram. Or you can also use the ferry but twice from the Bali Strait and Lombok Strait.
Besides that, you can also use an airplane. Mount Rinjani has a crater about 10 kilometers wide. Uniquely, there is a crater lake called Lake Segara Anak with a depth of about 230 meters.
And has water with a bluish color like a child of the ocean. The water flows from the lake to form a very beautiful waterfall. Many climbers fish in this lake because there are many carp and tilapia.
Hiking trails
There are 2 routes for climbing, namely the Sembalun Route and the Senaru Route. The Sembalun route is a favorite route for climbers.
Because even though the route is longer, it can save 700 m of altitude. On this path, you will pass through a very wide and beautiful savanna. There are 3 rest posts on this route.
After heading 3 climbers will face a steep incline with a slope of about 60 degrees. Meanwhile, if you go through the Senaru Route, you will pass through a dense and steep tropical forest.
As with the Sembalun Route, this route also has 3 resting posts. after that there will be a pelawan post which is usually used for camping. The attraction of Mount Rinjani is almost perfect.
