One of them is the residence of the First Indonesian President. This house was Soekarno’s residence when he was a political prisoner in 1938-1942.

He was exiled in the city of Bengkulu during the Dutch colonial era. Located in the city center to be precise in the Anggut sub-district, Bengkulu City.

Historically, this house measuring approximately 165 m2 has a blend of European and Chinese architecture. Built by Tjang Tjeng Kwai who at that time worked as a distributor of staples for Dutch colonial needs in Bengkulu, in 1918.

When it was rented out to the Dutch colonials, this house was used for Soekarno’s exile during his exile in Bengkulu. Previously, the owner of this house was a Chinese merchant named Lion Bwe Seng.

Meanwhile, the house is currently owned by the Alm family. Ki Agus Hussin. However, it is managed by the Pariwisara Office of Bengkulu Province.
