The Museum is located at Jalan Diponegoro No. 10 Fields.
The museum which was inaugurated on March 16, 1977 by the Minister of Education and Culture Prof. Dr. Sharif Thayeb.
This is based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 01/1989 dated January 9, 1989, this museum was named Adityawarman.
This is to remember the services of the king of Minangkabau in the XIV century AD.
The name of this museum comes from the name of King Adityawarman, who is one of the Minangkabau kings who is still a descendant of the Majapahit nobility.
King Adityawarman ruled from 1334 to 1364 AD.
This tourist spot in West Sumatra has a land area of 2.6 hectares.
With a building area of approximately 2,855 square meters and using the architectural design of the Bagonjong house or Rumah Gadang typical of Minangkabau.
Until now, this museum is one of the most popular educational tourism objects.
